Position Summary

The Programmer/Sr. Programmer Analyst will be responsible for the analysis, programming, testing, and maintenance of software and interfaces that enhance the university’s Ellucian Banner ERP system and third-party systems. With minimal supervision, works with functional users and other technical staff in facilitating business process reviews, and identifying and implementing product features in support of business requirements. The position reports to Director, Enterprise Applications University of the Incarnate Word main campus centralized Information Resources Division.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science or related field.

Required Work Experience

• Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and report writing tools
• Experience with complex relational database structures
• Experience writing application program interfaces
• Experience with systems analysis
• Experience creating technical and functional specifications based on business requirements
• Experience with quality assurance and testing
• Experience supporting enterprise resource planning and administrative systems
• Effective written and verbal communication with constituencies
• Programmer/Analyst requires a minimum of 1 – 3 years’ programming experience
• Sr. Programmer/Analyst requires 4 or more years of programming experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting the Ellucian Banner ERP

Experience creating views of Oracle databases

• Experience supporting the Ellucian Banner ERP
• Experience creating views of Oracle databases
• Experience with portal maintenance
• Experience with Banner Document Management Suite
• Experience working with Evisions products such as Argos, Intellecheck, and Formfusion
• Experience supporting Banner Self-Service and web tailor
• Experience with C, COBOL, Java, PERL, PHP
• Experience with workflow products
• Experience with job scheduling software
• Knowledge of networks and infrastructure
• Experience with project management techniques
• Experience collaborating effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

Work Hours

8:00 am – 5:00 PM with evenings and weekends as necessary.

Majority of time is spent in an office environment with some time spent facilitating client meetings in conference room facilities. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
