Position Summary

The Associate Athletic Director of Business Affairs serves on the UIW Athletics Leadership Team and is responsible for long-range financial and strategic planning, as well as, overseeing the day-to-day business operations of UIW Athletics.

Description of Job Duties

Ensures that financial processing functions (which may include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Purchasing) are performed with accuracy and that daily operations run smoothly. Assesses, recommends, documents, and implements controls, as needed, to ensure financial processes. Maintains compliance with federal and state requirements, internal financial and audit policies. Applies a wide variety of internal and external policies and regulations to address a range of issues, such as, NCAA compliance, tax implications, recovery of cash, risk management, and the organized implementation of a diverse range of financial services for students and departments. Reviews and approves financial transactions, including, purchase orders, procurement card, vouchers, travel vouchers, financial aid payments, etc. Develops, documents, and implements procedures for financial activities to ensure that UIW Athletics Business Affairs is running as efficiently and effectively as possible. Serves as the department contact for ad-hoc issues dealing with a variety of topics including: land line phones, copiers, sport-specific operations, equipment, vendor relations, etc. Oversee ticket reconciliation. Responsible for engagement with Human Resources.


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of budgets, and procurement. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree

Required Work Experience

At least 3 years of collegiate business affairs experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree or other advanced degree preferred. 5 years of collegiate business affairs experience.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Work Hours

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday with evenings and weekends as necessary.
