Position Summary

St. Anthony Catholic High School is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach. The coach will assist the Head Swim Coach in growing the boys and girls swim teams into competitive programs. The coach will teach and coach with the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our Core Values of Honesty & Integrity; Community; Service & Justice; Scholarship; Holistic Education.

Description of Job Duties

1. Assist the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport.
2. Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach.
3. Assesses team skills, monitors swimmers during competitions and practice and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of athletes.
4. Assists the head coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition.
5. Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards swimmers and spectators.
6. Attends all practices throughout the season.
7. Participates in special activities which include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep rallies.
8. Attends staff meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching and performance.
9. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the athletic director and principal.


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.

Need thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of swimming.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, teachers, parents and students.

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Required Education

High School Diploma or its equivalent.

Required Work Experience

2 yrs coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree; experience as a player at a collegiate or professional level.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

CPR certified or CPR certified within 15 days of being hired.

Must have a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or obtain CDL within 45 days of hire.

Must be insurable under UIW’s insurance carrier.

Work Hours

Practice is every weekday starting at 6am.

Swim meets will be on weekends.
